MagiKats was put together by a team of UK educators who saw that it was not sufficient just to give practice on either core skills or school work. Just practising core skills did not provide instant help with school work, but just helping with school work did not plug any gaps in prior knowledge. By combining the two elements, however, the team found a way to take a universal approach whilst still offering a firmly individual approach.  Having had years of experience in teaching, private tuition and running out of school clubs, the combination of all their experience came together for the first time when MagiKats was officially launched nationally in September 2005.

We will assist you in setting up your systems to run successful workshops.
We will provide:
· Full training on how to start and run a MagiKats franchise. Ongoing training once established.
· The MagiKats software, with installation support and full training. We provide all software updates as part of the ongoing business arrangement.
· Access to the additional resources that form part of the workshop materials.
· A range of marketing materials, including sample adverts. Support is also offered to help you market your new business in your local area.

 

It is not essential that you are a teacher to be a successful MagiKats Principal.  A dedication to education comes first.
Your role as a MagiKats franchisee is to improve a childs future success by focusing on the critical development of their ability to understand and use Maths and English.
From there our unique software generates materials that help make learning Maths and English fun for your students. Of course we understand that every child learns at a different speed, so we plan a learning programme for each one as an individual. When the software has created worksheets, they do their work the ‘old fashioned way’…with a pencil and paper.
We know that our approach of using multi-sensory learning techniques helps the student retain knowledge. The MagiKats method of using all kinds of hands on, fun resources further stimulates the mind and makes the learning process enjoyable.
At weekly workshops, your students concentrate on areas within Maths and English where they need help. They cover topics appropriate to their school year, so they can start to be more comfortable immediately. Between workshops, carefully set homework concentrates on developing their core skills. 

We look for people who are enthusiastic about education. You do not necessarily have to be qualified as a teacher. You do not need business experience. The necessary skills can be taught to you as part of the training process. You must be willing to learn, be good with people, and of course be reliable, presentable and organised.

· You must have a passion for education, and be willing to learn and develop your skills.
· Business experience is not necessary. That will come in time, as your franchise evolves.

· You will need to develop good subject skills, and be prepared to build a strong team of staff to support your new franchise.
· You need people skills because you will deal with children, parents and staff every day.
· We will teach you everything you need to know, so you must be willing to learn from us and use your skills to develop the business.
· Reliability is critical. Students, parents and staff will all rely on you to be organised and professional. Being late for your workshops or failing to prepare reflect badly on your business and the MagiKats name.
· You will need basic computer skills and be prepared to invest in suitable hardware if your existing hardware isn't suitable.
