PAM IS MADE TO MEASURE

Sunday 27th January 2008

The UK franchise industry is home to growing numbers of successful women, but one whose name has long been associated with franchising is Pam Bader OBE, Chief Executive of Molly Maid.

A former nursery school teacher and a boutique owner, Ms Bader was the pioneer and inspiration for Molly Maid UK , one of Britain ’s largest and best known professional domestic cleaning companies.

Charging on a per-clean, as opposed to hourly, basis, and providing easily identifiable, uniformed and fully trained staff, helped create a fertile market for Molly Maid, and from a standing start in 1985 the business grew to its current position as a market leader with an annual turnover in excess of £10 million.

In December 1995, Pam Bader became the first woman to be elected Chair of the British Franchise Association, and in the same year was awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to training in her capacity as a founder board director at her local Training and Enterprise Council, Thames Valley Enterprise.
