AFTER nine years of working in the book retail business, Mark Jerram became a casualty of the recession last year when he was made redundant.
Initially he thought about setting up his own bookshop, but decided that going it alone, particularly in a retail environment, was too risky.
Instead he started exploring different business opportunities, including those in franchising.
While carrying out his research he was drawn to oven cleaning franchise Ovenclean; the investment required was affordable and he felt that it was something he could do. As a franchise, it also offered him the support and reassurance that he needed.
He said: “The business launch was well supported and the work started to come in quickly. It seems that a professional oven clean is one of life’s little luxuries that people are simply not prepared to do without.”
Several months into his new role Mr Jerram is enjoying being out and about and says he loves meeting people.
“I am certain that investing in an Ovenclean franchise was the best decision I could have made,” he added.
