FRANCHISEE Rob Marshall has just completed five years with auto paintwork repair specialist ChipsAway, and has big plans for his business this year.
These include investing in a second vehicle and taking on a member of staff to help him cope with a continually growing demand for his services.
Having previously worked at Toyota for eight years Mr Marshall knew the motor trade – and the ChipsAway brand – very well. He attended a franchise open day at the company’s head office and went on to join them without seriously contemplating any other franchise.

At his franchise launch weekend he generated a huge amount of work which kept his diary full for his first few weeks, and he says he has been busy ever since. His turnover last year was up by 35 per cent up on the previous year, in spite of the challenging market conditions, and this year he expects it to be higher still.
He said: “I’m significantly better off than I would have been if I had stayed in employment. We’ve moved to a lovely home that I could never have contemplated being able to afford on my previous wages and my quality of life has improved beyond all recognition.”
