PROSPECTIVE franchisees with insufficient funds can find their dreams of business ownership shattered at the first hurdle.
Mars-branded franchise Snack-in-the-Box has come up with a solution to the problem of under-funding by offering qualified candidates the option of interest-free deferred payments.
Sales director Matthew O'Neil said: “There is nothing more frustrating than finding good people who then cannot move forward because they struggle to raise enough funds. Deferred, interest-free payments are an attractive proposition, but this deal isn't just for anybody. We have strict criteria in our franchisee selection, so this is not about rapidly growing a business at any cost. The circumstances must be right for both Snack-in-the-Box and the new franchisee.”
Snack-in-the-Box offers two franchise opportunities; a self service box franchise which delivers snacks and confectionery to businesses of up to 20 employees, and a compact vending franchise which places slim line vending machines into businesses with more than 20 employees.
Mr O'Neil added: “There is a trade off, and qualifying franchisees who take up the deferred payment deal will see a reduction in earnings potential in the first two years of up to 50 per cent of what they could expect to make if they had funded the business in full.”
