ONE franchise that has thrived in the challenging financial climate is ChipsAway.
Franchisees with the automotive paintwork repair company have reported a rise in business as more motorists decide to keep their cars on the road for longer and look to minor damage repair specialists to preserve the life and improve the value of their vehicles.
Franchisee Andrew Cooper is in his third year with the company and has had to gear up his business to cope with rising demand.

He said: “I reached a point where I was booked up with repairs and couldn’t find the time to respond promptly to new enquiries. People don’t want to have to wait several days, so I was potentially losing work. I’ve taken on an employee and opened a ChipsAway CarCare Centre and business is booming.”
Mr Cooper says he is ‘totally happy’ with his business and insists that joining ChipsAway was the right decision.
He said: “There is a huge market and no shortage of work; my biggest challenge is finding enough hours in the day.”
