The 38-year-old left a high flying job in corporate finance to become his own boss and says his business is now yielding around the same income level as his previous salary, while allowing him to spend more time with his young family.

Mr Birks said: “With the support of the ChipsAway team my business has continued to grow, in spite of the challenging financial climate. I expected a downturn after the banking crisis, but bizarrely it turned out to be my best year ever, and

I now look set to beat all records again this year.”

His long term plans include expanding his business into a multi-vehicle management franchise.

He adds: “I love what I do, work fewer hours and have less stress for the same level of income as before.”
