FOR low cost franchise opportunities with scope for expansion, mobile van based franchises are proving hard to beat.
They can be found in all sectors of franchising, from cleaning and property maintenance, to automotive paint repairs and delivery services; a combination of low overheads, flexibility and opportunities for growth making them attractive to prospective franchisees.
After working in the confines of a call centre Debbie Shrimpton is enjoying the freedom of being on the road as a franchisee with Snack-in-the-Box, supplying workplaces with a range of tasty snacks.
She said: “I was bored with being stuck in a stuffy office all day, tied to long and rigid hours. Now I'm out most days in the van, and there is a definite sense of freedom in my work, getting out and meeting lots of people.”
Many franchise companies encourage franchisees to expand their businesses into multi vehicle operations. At Revive UK this is fundamental to the franchise concept.
Kim Richardson and Adam Smith launched their Luton-based Revive UK franchise last year and are well on their way to achieving their goal of having three or four vans in operation by the end of 2011.
Operations director Terry (splt crrct) Mullen said: “People who join our network must be committed to developing multi vehicle operations from the outset, and we provide them with large territories that can accommodate business growth on that scale.”
