Roger Turner, Managing Director and founder of Complete Weed Control says “Complete Weed Control was set up to provide a specialist weed control service to a diverse range of areas including local authorities, public utilities, industrial sites, amenity and leisure areas etc. In fact, any area of land that has to be managed that is non agricultural and not a domestic garden”.

By 1980 the business had grown so substantially that consideration had to be given as to how best to continue expansion throughout the UK. Following a successful pilot scheme, the first Franchises were let in 1982, and today a network of 42 regions cover the entire UK and Ireland.

“Business has never been better, and 2001 was a record year in every sense”, says Roger Turner.

Over the years the company have won a number of awards for innovation and technology. In 1997, Complete Weed Control pioneered optic sensor technology which can identify a weed, and through a computer, target only the plant to be destroyed. In 1999 the company won a marketing award for it’s publication the Weeders Digest. But 2001 brought the ultimate accolade when Complete Weed Control was selected as a finalist in the BFA’s Franchisor of the Year Awards.

The company has now seen 30 years of continual growth and is anticipating a future of more weeds and growing profits.
